Neurophyte In Stable Condition.

Attention: Zion Operatives.

I know many of you are worried about Neurophyte, so I'm passing on the raw data about what I know now.

Neurophyte is showing signs of normal brain-wave activity today after a grueling seventeen-hour digital extraction session in the protected Zion Mainframe Medical Construct. Neurophyte, a young Zionite operative on her first solo mission, had become seriously injured at a now-classified location in the Real.

During a daring rescue attempt both in the Matrix and in the Real, Zion recovered Neurophyte only to find her incapacitated by the presence of an unknown piece of “killcode” in her mind. It was quickly determined that she was going to die of a combination of cerebral ischemia and an unknown condition causing anomalous EEG readings.

The journey via hovercraft back to Zion was a difficult one for us all. Neurophyte had determined that the killcode she had found in the Real was more important than her survival. Since the killcode was implanted in her brain by unknown means, it was apparent that the mechanism of removal of the killcode was going to be the prime determinant in the survival of our operative.

Neurophyte insisted on no medical treatment on the return trip to Zion. She demanded the killcode to be removed immediately from her mind, knowing full well that the result would be an aggravation of her condition and probable death.

It was the intervention of a number of other warriors of Zion that changed her mind. As she read through emails and data-drops from Zion and the hovercrafts and barges in the Broadcast lanes, she was convinced of her value to Zion. She agreed to undergo a slower and safer extraction attempt of the killcode data from her mind in a Construct.

In all this good news, we have one dark cloud. The full measure of the killcode has not been removed. Zion medical professionals believe it will no longer affect her negatively, but may provide for an unknown affect on her personality and her abilities.

Neurophyte wants me to thank everyone for their emails, which quite literally saved her life. She will return to duty as soon as she is capable.

The crew of the Novalis II is on leave at this time, and will be working with Neurophyte during her time of rehabilitation. Zion Command requests you honor their privacy as they help their friend return to duty.
