As many of you have heard, today opened with a great new opportunity for fans of The Matrix Online (MxO). This morning, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (WBIE) and Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) jointly announced a new collaboration involving MxO. Official press announcement. Although change might sound scary, SOE and WBIE are committed to continuing and improving MxO.
The MxO team is very excited about collaborating with SOE, for the team and for the fans. This change melds the experience and wisdom of SOE, a highly established publisher of online games with the existing developers of MxO. This change also opens the option of the Station Access subscription plan to MxO players. For only $21.99 a month, the pass will give access to EverQuest, EverQuest II, Star Wars Galaxies, PlanetSide, and EverQuest Online Adventures (PlayStation 2) as well as MxO. Together this should mean more gaming possibilities for MxO players and fresh new faces coming into the game.
Over the short term, this announcement should have little impact on MxO users. As the team transitions, we will be sure to keep fans abreast of any further information as it becomes available.
