BETA PLAYER OF THE WEEK!

Congratulation to Iceberg, this weeks recipient of the Beta Player of the Week! A well-deserved honor to be sure, and you can read more about the reasons why we chose Iceberg by reading the article here.

CAPTION OF THE WEEK: One Just Wasn't Enough!

Wow, you are some seriously funny redpills. Many thanks to all for your submissions on the Caption of the Week.  There was much laughing and rolling about here in The Matrix Online Community Team offices. We had a hard time picking just one single caption, so we finally settled on the following captions provided by Traxada.50, Atreyu and Adonai:

1.

"Its my first day" wasn't a really good excuse for Agent Jones
- Traxada.50

2.

The agent was blown away when Roy proposed to him... with a shotgun.
- Atreyu

3.

Defiance is Mandatory
- Adonai

You can check out the announcement on our community page here:

AND NOW...CAPTION THIS!

Go on then, post your suggested captions to this thread. The rules are simple: Keep it content and context appropriate, and have fun! The chosen redpills will get a top billing on the community site, as well as the honor of being known hither and yon as an individual of depth and distinction.

THE QUESTION OF THE WEEK!

Redpills lined up around the block with questions, and I'm sitting on a pile of really great answers. This week, we chose a question from Debarlo that we thought was particularly interesting. We hope you agree!

Debarlo asks:

Q:

We've seen a couple new abilities added with this last patch. Will there continue to be more abilities added before launch or even after launch once players start maxing out ability trees?

We contacted Foxbat, the Game Designer hard at work on the Disciplines and Abilities features, for his comments.

A:

Weve been adding some new abilities recently to help flesh out some of the disciplines (and also repurposing some of the existing abilities as we work on the game balance). However, we wont be adding any new abilities from this point until after we launch. Were satisfied with the disciplines and abilities we have now. Were going to continue to tweak, tune, and balance the ones that are currently in the game, but you wont be seeing any new ones in the Beta.

We do intend to add new disciplines and abilities after we launch. Weve already planned out some new disciplines that youll see sometime after we go live. The flexible discipline system is one of the coolest features of The Matrix Online, and we plan to take full advantage of it.

BONUS QUESTION OF THE WEEK!

Da Zees asks:

Q:

Do you think that the pod people around mega city wonder why all the freaks hang out by the phone booth?

We tapped our Story Designer, Matrix-Binary, for an answer to this one. He appeared to mull it over during a rather lengthy blank stare, but offered this in return:

A:

Actually, the question that bugs me is: Where does a woman in a skintight mini-dress hide an assault rifle?

Give the man a purse full of candy and a plate of chocolate chip cookies and he would be our own little on-site Oracle.

In any event, many thanks to Debarlo and Da Zees for their capital contributions to the community question queue - you too can seek answers to your most burning quandary regarding The Matrix Online by dropping your question into this thread
