News: Maximum Experience Announcement

Currently, The Matrix Online displays experience gained above the amount it takes to reach the existing level cap. Since it would wreck elder gameplay experience to allow players to leap from 50 to whatever their amassed experience equaled if the cap was raised above level 50, tracking XP above level 50 is currently unnecessary.

With the next patch, players who have earned enough experience to reach level 51 will have Maximum displayed for their XP on the Status panel. No additional experience will be granted to these players. No experience will be granted to players once that amount is reached. Information, reputation points, and loot items will be awarded as usual.

For players who have already accumulated XP above the maximum, we will truncate their experience to just below level 51. We understand that many of you have put in a lot of game time after reaching level 50 and we don't want to invalidate your accomplishments. Therefore, we will store data on anything above that along with all other character information for our reference.

So, while your extra XP may be "gone", it is certainly not forgotten. Rest assured, the team is planning ways to make sure gameplay remains rewarding and engaging for players who have achieved level 50.
