Beta Player Spotlight: Adonai!

The Beta Player Spotlight is an honor reserved for players who make a significant contribution to The Matrix Online. Whether by submitting excellent petitions, supporting fellow players or sharing their knowledge on the message boards, the people chosen for the Beta Player Spotlight are truly something special.

This week, we are pleased to announce that the Beta Player Spotlight falls on Adonai!

"I think Adonai would fit perfectly as a beta tester of the week. She's been in this community since day one, both helping people and cheering everyone up. She's another community freak that does everything she can to make the community happy. She's a well known DJ at RFZ, hosting the popular morning show with many good news and laughter. She has also hosted a few in-game events like the crowded Chrimbo Rave back in December."

We were able to catch up with Adonai, and ask her some questions; here is what she had to say:

Q:

How long have you been beta testing for The Matrix Online?

A:

To be honest I'm not quite sure of the date, it was I believe after the friends and family beta, late July early August maybe? I chalk my not remembering down to the Matrix Effect, otherwise highlighted by why there are no clocks in Las Vegas. Time flies when your having... "Aiiiieeee, Run for your lives FURIES!"

Q:

What's been the most enjoyable aspect of being a beta tester for The Matrix Online?

A:

Personally the "first real Agent killed by a Player", was incredible! I have never felt such a compelling game play joy, as waxing that Smith wannabe. It was an unknown, something taboo that could not be done, and yet that event captures the essence of what The Matrix Online is wholly about; shattering assumption, convention and ultimately breaking the mold of other legacy offerings.

On the community side of my experiences, without doubt the first Radio Free Zion broadcast and Rave. Considering the precedent that event set, the increasing professional level of quality and service provided on ever broadening scale, I can't help but look back in humbling awe.

Q:

What's your advice to people on getting involved in the community?

A:

Jack in and Crank it up! In all seriousness, dive in head first into this community. It is bar none an incredible network of insanely talented, committed, friendly, hardcore people as you are ever likely to meet. The player base has created an extensive and diverse array of web based content, which continues to inspire, entertain and educate new players to bring it "better, faster, longer, stronger" to the "family" feast.

Three sites that I can't get enough of are:
http://www.matrixdojo.com, http://www.slumberil.com and http://www.radiofreezion.com.

Q:

Is there a feature of The Matrix Online that you would you consider your favorite, or most exciting?

A:

A single feature?! If I had to focus on just one, which considering the wealth of the features is extremely difficult, I would highlight the impending live story by Paul Chadwick. The Matrix Online is a vehicle to drive this story, a rich canvas to take inspiration from and create something truly wonderful. The game, although on the bleeding edge of what the industry creates, pales in comparison to what it will mean to live the continuing saga of the Matrix. To leave your enduring mark in Matrix history is an incredible opportunity, and shows the belief the Wachowski Brothers have not only in Paul Chadwick and the creative team but also more importantly the players. No community has ever been empowered to such a degree and with a franchise of this scale.

Q:

How does The Matrix Online differ from some of the other MMO titles you have seen?

A:

I get around... In a massively competitive vertical, such as MMO's, you will see formulaic revisions on what has worked in the past, tweaked into the future, dragging those consumers from game to game in what literally amounts to nothing more than patches on the exact same concept. The Matrix Online departs in genre and execution from that "tried and tested and now very tired" formula. I think in some regards this is a perfect homage to the ground breaking movies. There has been nothing like the Matrix as far as a cinematic experience and the same can be said as far as The Matrix Online. I believe to be completely revolutionary you have to risk it all, departing from traditional norms and conventions. The Matrix Online, much like its noble and unique sire, is a pioneer of difference in a field of unoriginal pretenders.

And that friends, is why Adonai was caught in our Beta Player Spotlight- Thanks for all your work Adonai, and on behalf of the entire team of The Matrix Online, congratulations!
